We remember Avery Tolar, a man of great intelligence, charm, and complexity. Though flawed, he was fiercely loyal in his own way, navigating a world of high stakes with wit and wisdom. Beneath the sharp suits and sharp mind was someone who, in his final moments, sought redemption. May he be at peace, free from the burdens that once weighed so heavily upon him. Those who knew him will remember not just his brilliance, but the humanity beneath it. Rest easy, Avery.

Avery was a dear friend. He was an excellent mentor and I was honored to be his protégé. He loved the Cayman Islands and Red Stripe beer. I still remember when he taught me to scuba dive. Most of all, he loved The Firm. Avery, we miss you. Hope you’re having a Bombay martini with three olives.
